Lil Tecca
Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August
26, 2002, is an American singer and rapper. His single from 2019
"Ransom" was his first major hit. It peaked at number 4 in the
Billboard Hot 100. His debut mixtape"We Love You Tecca (2019) included the
track. It peaked at fourth place in the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also
included singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It
Again". The debut album of his studio called Virgo World (2020) was
released #10 on the Billboard 200 and included the Billboard Hot 100
chart-topping songs "Dolly" and "When You Down". The
mixtape that he followed up with We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August
2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" as
well as others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was the child of Jamaican immigrants.
He was born on August 26, 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in
Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst
in Long Island. Sharpe had always wanted to join the NBA as a child, but at the
age 12 he decided to pursue a career in music. Sharpe completed his studies at
Lawrence High School. Tecca, nine years old at the at the time, was rapping
with his friends with his Xbox to record. One of their diss tracks was posted
to SoundCloud many years ago but has since been removed. In his first years in
high school, he had no intentions of pursuing music a profession and instead
envisioned becoming an NBA star. As he entered middle school however, he
started to become bored with basketball and started taking music seriously. The
first track that gained some attention, "Tectri", was made in
collaboration with his pal, Lil Gummybear, and came out in early 2017. Some of
the tracks he was working on include "Callin". A year later, Tecca's
career began to take off by releasing his smash single "Ransom" The
track was originally uploaded on Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube
channel on May 22nd the 22nd of May, 2019. The track reached the top spot at
number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has received more than 900 million
Spotify listeners and more than 300 million YouTube views.
