Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, an African-American writer, is known for her ex-wife comedian and television host Steve Harvey. In a bid to keep her distance from the scrutiny of the media, she is living a private life. Even though Steve hadn't even reached anywhere close to the success he enjoys now the couple was married for 14 years. It's unclear what led to the split, however Hollywood has heard of rumors about it. Some believe it was due to Steve Harvey's cheating habits and others to his choice of to pursue a different path in life, such as comedy. Marcia Harvey was born to an African-American family. They did not have a lot of money. She began her career working at Saks Fifth Avenue, a department store. She was introduced to Steve several years later at a mutual friend's reception party. They fell in love and they were married in 1980. The couple was blessed with twin girls in 1982, while Steve worked as an insurance salesman. Steve was disillusioned with his job and wanted to pursue a career as an entertainer, particularly stand-up comedy. This caused a lot of conflict between him and Marcia and later, reports claimed that they were beginning to live apart from the year 1990. Marcia Harvey's fame stemmed largely from her marriage to Steve Harvey, and their divorce. While their divorce proceedings in 1994 were secret, it's clear that Marcia Harvey was expecting their third child when they fell apart. Marcia was finally able to file for divorce in 1993. Marcia was forced to seek the law following her divorce and Steve Harvey's denial of child support and alimony payments.
